Giving thanks,

As I’m writing this letter to you I can hear the tuning man downstairs; repeated notes, shrill and loud float up to my room. It makes me think of life and living and how sometimes, being me feels messy and I feel just like those notes: shrill, too loud and out of context. And then I open my bigger-vision-eyes and see the larger picture; I am an instrument with incredible capacity for beauty and love; and so are you.

Who’s in that photo above and why is it in this email?
I grew up with these two sweet ladies. Maria Misin (left) is my grandma’s cousin and Marioara is the neighbor across the street. This village is my happy place and the house behind them is the one I sing about in “Grandma’s House.” (Download on Itunes)Why their photo? I guess the one benefit of not writing very often is that I now have a lot to tell you.
Hope you’re doing well and that you’ve enjoyed the rest of your summer and now fall. I love November; the air gets crisp, the sky is clear and I love thinking about the holidays. Christmas is my favorite time of year. 🙂

The first great news is that our short film, “All Sales Final” got accepted into the Asheville Cinema Festival. I can’t tell you how excited I am about that!! This is the festival who premiered “Silver Linings Notebook” and “The Artist.” The director of the festival actually called me on the phone to congratulate us. I thought it was a prank call at first. ha!

Good news #2 is in music.

My two singles, “Grandma’s House’ and “Someday” were just accepted by Pandora.

It’s called “Transilvania Frumoasa,” Transylvania the Beautiful. I love it! There was so much good footage but I kept it at 5 minutes. Just need to mix the sound and it’s ready for sneak peaks, film festivals & beyond. (more info here)
